Biography

As early as Kirah can remember there has always been dance, and she wouldn’t have had it any other way. Kirah started dancing at the age of 3; spending many years up into her early teens with the classical forms of dance: tap, jazz and ballet; with hip hop and a stint in acro & gymnastics for good measure. In high school Kirah was unable to continue her classical education. As she grew older Kirah started exploring other dance forms. This eventually lead her to belly dance. To quote many a dancer," it was love at first sight". Belly dance had the isolations she always loved from hip hop with the grace and fluidity of other dance forms. When Kirah watched bellydancers, she saw an out pouring of emotion, freedom, passion and soul that she knew she wanted to be a part of. |

Education
Even as a professional belly dancer near Long Island, Kirah remains a motivated American Cabaret student. Kirah is also inspired by Egyptian and Fusion styles and continues to sample the diversity that modern Middle Eastern dance has to offer. Kirah began her belly dance studies in 2009 with Samira of Syria who gave her students a desire to look deeper into the dance and over the years has come under the instruction of several prominent dancers; each known for their own unique styles and the passion they bring to the dance. Kirah has had the privilage to study with and be influcenced by: Elisheva (of BellyQueen), Jennifer of Orlando, Ruby Beh and Victoria Teel. Kirah also supplements her education with multiple intensives with Aziza of Montreal and numerous other workshop programs. Kirah holds a B.A. in Psychology with a focus in Studio Art. |
